Set Priorities for NRCS Funding!

Local Soil and Water Conservation Districts set the local priorities for Georgia USDA-NRCS cost share programs.  The more people from the sustainable and organic agriculture community participate, the more these priorties will reflect our interests.  Below is the schedule, and you can find a map and more information about the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission here.

 

Lamar County SWCD & Towaliga SWCD- LWG meeting on August 3rd at 10:00 am at NRCS office in Barnesville.

Pine Mountain SWCD - Local Work Group meeting in conjunction with its next Board meeting on July 21st at the Buena Vista USDA Service Center in Buena Vista at 12:30 pm

Stephens County SWCD - EQIP local workgroup meeting is scheduled for July 14, 2011 at the next Upper Chattahoochee River District Meeting at Ryan’s Steakhouse Restaurant in Dawsonville at 7pm

Flint River SWCD - Local Work Group meeting in conjunction with the next Board meeting on July 7, at the Miller County Extension Office in Colquitt at 9:30 am.

Alapaha SWCD -  Local Work Group meeting in conjunction with the next Board meeting on July 13, 2011 at 9:00 am at the County Extension Office in Valdosta.

Coosa River SWCD & Limestone Valley SWCD - meeting on July 26 at 10 AM at the Gordon County Farm Bureau building in Calhoun. 

Middle South GA SWCD - Local Work Group meeting in conjunction with the next Board meeting which will be held on July 6th at the USDA Service Center in Tifton at 2.

Central GA SWCD – LWG meeting will be held on August 9, 2011 10am -12noon at Wahington County Farm Bureau, 56 West Church Street, Sandersville

Upper Ocmulgee & Walton County SWCD – LWG Meeting will be held at July 19th at 11am at the Newton County Admin Building in Covington

Ohoopee River SWCD – LWG Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 21, 10am at Mt. Vernon/ Montgomery County Adult Learning Center on Richardson Street, adjacent to the USDA Service Center in Mt. Vernon, GA

Clayton County SWCD – LWG meeting will be held at the Clayton County Extension Office in Jonesboro at 10am on July 11th

Ocmulgee River SWCD – Thursday, July 7th at the Old Courthouse in Perry at 7:00pm

Lower Chattahoochee River SWCD – Tuesday, July 19th at  the USDA Service Center in Dawson

The Coastal SWCD LWG meeting has been scheduled for Wed. August 3rd.  It will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Holton’s in Midway.

West Georgia SWCD will host their LWG on July 20 at the Carroll County Ag Center from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. 

The Roosevelt SWCD will host their LWG meeting at the Jones' cabin in Mountville in conjunction with their regular SWCD meeting at 6:00 PM on July 27.

Ogeechee LWG Mtg. – Aug. 4th from 6:00 until at the Bulloch County Center for Agriculture in Statesboro, GA
