| Description | SOLD OUT!! Celebrate the launch of the new Local Food Guide–and the release of the Atlanta Local Food Initiative’s Plan for Atlanta's Sustainable Food Future–with Georgia Organics in East Atlanta, an urban community that is integrating local food into the daily lives of its citizens. We invite you to visit the thriving East Atlanta neighborhood and enjoy one or more of the following evening festivities:
4-8pm East Atlanta Village Farmers Market: Bring your basket and come to tour and buy fresh local products at this up-and-coming market. Visitors to that evening’s market can learn how to start new community gardens in City of Atlanta parks, from Park Pride, and visit the Brownwood Community Garden located near the market. No RSVP needed for this portion of the evening festivities–show up and join in the fun!
5:30-7:30pm Chews Local Reception at The Glenwood: The central event of the evening, the reception features local food appetizers, microbrews, and wine, and is free for Georgia Organics members, $15 per person for non-members. The $15 admission can be applied to a Georgia Organics membership upon check-in that evening. RSVP/registrations required; make your reservation early to join in the fun!
8pm Chews Local Dinner at The Glenwood: Attendance limited to 50 persons. Cap off your evening with a fabulous four-course prix fixe menu, prepared by the innovative young chefs who are Putting East Atlanta on the culinary map, using fresh food procured from their favorite local farmers. Vegetarian option is available. Dinner tickets are $50 for Georgia Organics members, or $65 for non-members, and are available by advance reservation only on a first come basis.
