Farm to School 101 Workshop for Elementary School Teachers
Mar. 10, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Buckeye Creek Farm
Woodstock, GA
Integrating farm to school activities into your current lesson plans. In this unique, hands-on workshop, K-5th grade teachers will explore and practice how to easily integrate farm-to-school activities across the curriculum and Georgia Performance Standards, into subjects such as science, math, art, history, nutrition and literature. Students get excited about and connected to their local food system as the result of learning how food decisions impact health, the environment and the economy. Farm to school activities can range from planting a seed to learning about cultures, history and nutrition.
This on-farm workshop will include creative brainstorming with other teachers, a hands-on food demonstration that you can replicate in your own classroom, and tour of the beautiful Buckeye Creek Farm.
Cost: $30 (Delicious local lunch included!)
