What We’re Working On:

• Actively pursue solutions to address the poultry processing needs of independent Georgia farmers.
• Support the creation of a formal statewide Farm to School program to facilitate and streamline local food purchasing.
• Advocate against budget cuts that threaten essential programs and services including the cooperative extension service and agriculture education.
• Monitor changes to the state’s Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) permits and definitions and programs that impact sustainable and organic agriculture in Georgia.
• Support the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition's work on the next Farm Bill.
• Support the Atlanta Local Food Initiative’s work around municipal ordinance accommodations that expand opportunities for urban agriculture, farmers markets, home and market gardening and community garden development and sustainability.
