Farm to School

School district wellness policies to be updated in 2012 - advocate to have Farm to School included in your local wellness policy

 

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act that Congress passed in 2010 requires all school districts to update their local wellness policies. Many of the issues districts will address include vending machines on campus, a la carte options, and fundraisers. This is a great chance to flex your local policy muscle and work with your school district to include farm to school language.
