Ask an Organic Farmer: Organic Poultry Production with Grateful Pastures Farm

Georgia Organics is hosting the second of the "Ask an Organic Farmer" webinar series with Shaun and Sabrina Terry of Grateful Pastures Farm, an organic pastured poultry farm in Mansfield, GA.

Each webinar of this series will highlight a Certified Organic farmer, and participants will be able to learn about their farm journey, their motivation and barriers to being organic, and lessons they’ve learned through lived experience. This series is geared towards farmers that are interested in transitioning to organic, beginning farmers, and farmers that are seeking advice from experienced growers. The webinar will include an ‘office hours’ portion, where participants can ask Shaun and Sabrina questions, seek guidance, and engage in an open floor discussion.

Shaun & Sabrina Terry started Grateful Pastures Farm in 2015 after realizing the hole in the market for humanely-raised, nutrient-rich chicken. Their mission is to respectfully raise animals to provide top quality food for the community, while improving the ecological health of the small portion of earth over which they have influence. Grateful Pastures’ chickens live in mobile shelters outside, are moved to fresh pasture every single day, see sunshine, and are able to forage for grass, seeds, and insects like nature intended. This system is not only the most humane way of raising chickens for meat, but it also regenerates the soil. Grateful Pastures sells at farmers markets in Atlanta every Saturday and they also offer weekly on-farm pickups.

Registration is FREE and required to attend the webinar.
