“Consider Organic Certification on a Diversified Vegetable Farm” Farmer Field Day

The SE TOPP Georgia partners are hosting a diverse line-up of field days across the state for our "Consider This..." series in 2026.

On Monday, June 29, 2026, Oxford College Organic Farm is hosting the “Consider Organic Certification on a Diversified Vegetable Farm” Farmer Field Day in Oxford, GA. Join us if you are considering organic vegetable production and want to learn about the audit and inspection processes required for certification. Farmer Daniel Parson will be joined by Patrick Dost, inspection manager at Quality Certification Services (QCS), who will perform a mock field inspection.

Educational Highlights of Farmer Field Day:

  • Certified Organic diversified vegetable production

  • Organic certification inspection and audit preparation and expectations

  • Recordkeeping and documentation necessary for organic certification

This field day will be highly valuable for:

  • Any farmer who has considered organic certification before

  • Current Certified Naturally Grown farmers who are curious about the organic process and have previously viewed the certification as inaccessible

  • Extension agents who would benefit to see the organic certification process in person in order to better understand organic production and assist growers in their service areas

  • Certified organic farmers who want to connect directly with an inspection manager and other organic farmers to have their organic questions answered
